Bold Storyteller in a World of Possibilities

Jackson is a performer and creative artist based in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina.

Jackson graduated from High Point University in 2022 with his BA in Theatre Performance, with a concentration in Musical Theatre. He graduated Magna Cum Laude, while holding numerous other University Honors, including HPU’s Extraordinary Leader Award. In 2023, he returned to High Point University to obtain his MA in Communications and Leadership, where he became a Siegfried Leadership Fellow.

In addition, he trained at The Broadway Collective in New York City, a rigorous musical theatre academy, where his award-winning coaches and mentors included: Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice), Jessica Vosk (Wicked), Kelcy Griffin (Fosse-Verdon), Aaron Kaburick (Something Rotten), Solea Pfieffer (Hamilton), and Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone). During his time at The Broadway Collective, he studied dance with Josh Bergasse (SMASH), Jason Sparks (Hello Dolly), Amanda LaMotte (The Music Man), Brendon Stimson (The Prom), Al Blackstone (SYTYCD), and Khori Petinaud (Radio City Rockettes).

Jackson has been seen as Jesus in Godspell, Jimmy Ray Dobbs in Bright Star, Bobby Strong in Urinetown, The Minstrel in Something Rotten, Lucas Beineke in The Addams Family, Angel + Referee in Kinky Boots, Robertson Ay in Mary Poppins, and Leaf Coneybear in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and many more! He was awarded the “Best Leading Male Performer” award for his performance of Jimmy Ray Dobbs in Bright Star, as well as HPU Faculty’s “Excellence in Performance” award for his performance of Jesus in Godspell.

He joined iTheatrics in New York City to workshop Chicago: Teen Edition, where he performed in the Ensemble; and Nice Work If You Can Get It: Teen Edition, where he played the role of Cookie McGee. You can also find him in the choreography DVD’s for both productions, licensed by Concord Theatricals.

In 2022, Jackson made his directorial debut with Descendants: The Musical at High Point Community Theatre. He will return to HPCT in the Fall to direct their youth stage production of Mean Girls. Jackson currently serves as the Performing Arts Department Tutor for Penn Griffin School of the Arts in High Point, North Carolina. Earlier this year, he co-directed and choreographed their production of Chicago: Teen Edition, earning him a NC Triangle Rising Star award nomination for Outstanding Choreography. Jackson has been choreographing for musical theatre since 2018. His choreography credits include: Shrek, Fiddler on the Roof, Willy Wonka, Hairspray, and The Addams Family.

Jackson is a true creative at heart. Although, you probably didn’t know he writes and creates his own shows, too! Jackson devised an original musical theatre concert called, Backwards Broadway, in the Spring of 2020 for High Point University. He reimagined the production for a special encore presentation in the Winter of 2021. His favorite project he has created has been HPU’s Virtual Musical Theatre Cabaret, which captured the artists perspective on the 2020 events and expressed those emotions through song and dance. During his final semester at HPU, Jackson created and directed his own musical revue called, Color My World. This show told the story of his personal life from childhood to adulthood, featuring the songs he holds the nearest to his heart at each chapter of his individual journey.

Jackson is grateful to his family, friends, mentors, and musical theatre community for motivating him and believing in the power of his dreams. He is appreciative of every student, experience, and artistic process that allows him to fulfill his calling. He is thankful for the universe allowing him to dream BIG. Jackson’s mission in this creative work is very simple, to leave the industry better than he found it through his passion and light.
